  Tell me something about ISDT?
Institute of Skill Development and Training is an organization specialized in developing specialized skill based training and up-gradation courses in healthcare and related sectors. Institute develops the complete training courses, materials and run them for specific target group.
  What is CDO?
CDO (certified dispensing optician), is an up gradation course in Dispensing Optics, specially designed for working Opticians. The course covers complete Ophthalmic Dispensing along with problem solving in pre and post dispensing, specialized lenses and coatings.
  Who can do CDO?
Any person with minimum six months experience in opticianary. There is no bar for minimum education.
  What is the duration of the course?

The course duration is 3 months flexible learning.

  Do I have to attend the classes?
As it is the up gradation course with flexible learning it is done in distance learning. There is no need to attend the classes. There is an option to attend classes in case you want to learn some specific topic or skill. For this you have to inform institute in advance.
  What topics are covered?
The course is divided into 8 modules. The topics covered are: Basic anatomy & physiology, Basic optics, Ophthalmic Optics, Frames, refractive Errors, Progressive lenses, Coatings, Problem solving and sales techniques.
  What is the format of study materials?
The study material is divided into 8 modules in printed book form with lot of pictures and explanation of topics.
  What is the medium of instructions?
The medium of instruction is basic, simple English. The counseling is done in Hindi, Gujarathi and English.
  What if I dont understand any of the topics?
There is a special telecounseling facility available for the students. The student can call on academic helpline and get guidance from our expert faculty members or can e mail a query and get your questions answered.
  Is there any final exam?
No. there is no final exam as in conventional system. The evaluation is done on continuous basis. The assignment is sent with every module and you have to solve it and send it back to the institute. There is a final question paper that contains questions from all the modules which is to be solved at the last module.
  What is the student profile currently?
The institute has students from across the country and outside who are working Opticians.
  How the evaluation & grading is done?
The evaluation is done on continuous basis. The assignments are in objective format. The system is grading system based on percentage.
  Can I get the practical training and what is the cost?
This course is designed for working opticians. There is option to attend the practical Training with advance notice without any extra cost.

  What is the admission processes? What are the fees?

You have to fill up the admission form with all information and documents if required. If you are doing a course through your association please attaché the copy of membership certificate or letter or any other documentary proof. The fees of the course is Rs. 20700/*- for individual students.
